Features and uses:
The Taxus media Hicksii belonging to the taxaceae family was obtained from the crossing between Taxus Baccata originating in England and Taxus Cuspidata originating in Japan.
The Taxus medium Hicksii is a coniferous columnar bear, the vegetation is dense and compact, it grows slowly and can reach a height of 6-8 mt.
The leaves are needle-shaped, shiny green with reddish nuances at the bottom and grow on dense and erect branches. The inflorescence appears between March and April, while in summer it produces fleshy red berries.
It fits well to any kind of terrain, it has no problems if it is placed in the sun or in the shade. It resists very well in cold climates and tolerates periods of drought. Slow growth does not make pruning indispensable.
In the ornamental green it is used to make dense hedges, but not intrusive or as a single specimen, in free form, pon, or according to the topiary art. Perfect both in private gardens and in public green areas.
