Features and uses:
The
Brahea Armata Palm belongs to the arecaceae family, is native to Mexico and is also called the "palm blue of Mexico".
It is an
evergreen palm, with a stem erect, wide at the base, of brown-gray color, marked by the leaves of fallen leaves. The leaves are large, rounded and palmtoped, gray in blue with silvery reflections and with many thorns on the petiole.
The inflorescence of the
Brahea Armata appears in the spring, it is curved and consists of
many small white flowers, then appear
brown berries, round, containing only one fertile seed.
It is very
durable and robust, perfect for Mediterranean climates, because it can withstand temperatures below 12/15 ° C. Perfect for sea areas, thanks to its wind and salt tolerance. Suitable for poor and gravelly soils, it prefers exposing in the sun, but it also adapts well to the half shade.
