Features and uses:
The
Festuca Glauca Elijah Blue is an ornamental grass that hides many virtues. It is cultivated in vase, it is
evergreen and belongs to the family of poaceae.
It looks like a clump of erect leaves, formed by so many thin,
light blue-glaucous wires, which turns gray during the winter. Its soo flowers formed by
straw-colored ears and appear during the summer; they are sterile and therefore do not produce seeds.
The growth of the glaze of Festuca is carpet and usually does not exceed 0.40-0.50 mt, making it ideal for forming
borders. It is a
very robust and rustic grass that can be planted both in the sun and in the shadows, but it is important to remember that it prefers well drained and dry soil. In fact, it tolerates drought and saltwater very well, which is why it is a great ally of
ski lifts, roadbeds and sea areas.
It is important to remember that it is
not subject to illness and does not require maintenance, so you can define a
pearl of green, suitable to adorn also private gardens.
It is possible to combine Festuca glauca with other
ornamental grasses to create
heights and chromatic effects, such as Carex Oshimensis Evergold, Miscanthus sinensis Red Chief, or Pennisetum alop. Viridescens.
