Features and uses:
The
Thuya occidentalis Amber Glow is native to North America and belongs to the family of cupressaceae.
It is a
dwarf conifera that looks like a
ball of attractive yellow gold, composed of a dense foliage persistent and needle-shaped. The more mature internal leaves tend to have bright green color, while
the falls in winter fall tingle with bronze color shades.
Cultivation of the
Thuya occ. Amber Glow is very simple because it
does not ask for accurate irrigation, does not require fertilization
or pruning. It is important that
the soil is well drained, no matter the dough type or whether it is neutral or slightly acidic.
Its dimensions are very small and it is perfect for
rocky, alpine, countryside or urban greenery. Interesting if it is cultivated
in a pot to decorate balconies and terraces or in mixed flower beds, along with other conifers, perhaps of different color and different shape. It is also
great as a border, for example to delimit a walk or along a cycle track.
Other cultivated Thuya varieties include: Golden Tuffet, Mr Bowling Ball, Miss Frosty®, Smaragd, Sunny Smaragd®, Tiny Tim, 4ever Goldy®
