The Lawsonian Chamaecyparis Sunkist is a dwarf conifera belonging to the cupressaceae family, is a selected variety from Chamaecyparis Lawson.
The needle leaves are of a beautiful green color, while the ends of the new branches stand out with bright yellow vivid-green colors, which intensify in the fall. The branches are long, thin and open, not very rigid, facing downwards.
The bearing is compact, initially globular, then growing takes on the conical shape. In time it develops for about 1 m in height and 1 m in width. Its slow growth avoids having to perform mandatory pruning, it is therefore optional to shorten the branches to give the conifer the shape you prefer.
By nature it would like a slightly acidous soil but the Chamaecyparis laws. Sunkist is suitable for all types of soil, the important thing is that they are well drained. It is a conifer very resistant to cold winters, and adapts well to both sunny and semi-shaded positions.
This conifer is very well cultivated in a vase to satisfy the one who loves green, but has no garden, in medium-small gardens. In large gardens, instead, you can enter the Chamaecyparis laws. Sunkist in a mixed meadow with other dwarf conifers or other shrubs, creating a wonderful landscape, rich in shapes and colors or simply using it as a single bush.
