Features and uses:
Bamboo Metake, or Pseudosasa Japonica originally from the Far East, belongs to the Poaceae family, is a very rugged and rustic evergreen, resistant to cold winters and hot summers.
The characteristic that distinguishes it from its kind is the shape of the leaf, in fact compared to "Bamboo Aurea" is a little shorter and wider, while the color does not vary, it is a beautiful shiny green. The canes are of olive green color from young, while adults become light brown.
The growth of Bamboo Metake is slower and remains lower than its counterparts, but also for this variety, if planted on the ground, it is advisable to create a deep barrier of about 80 cm, containing for rhizomes, whose nature is developing quickly.
Bamboo Metake adapts well to different types of soil, but prefers fertile, humid and well-drained soils, a sunny position. It is important to remember that it is not subject to illness, generally does not require maintenance, and it is very long.
Recommended for large gardens and large spaces, or potted, it is ideal for creating evergreen windmills and hedges, in different contexts: on terraces, public parks, rocky gardens, or in informal gardens.
There are many varieties of Bamboo including Pelioblastus Pygmaeus, a upholstered bamboo, perfect for making green carpets.
